Mindview mag (Belgium) - 7/7
Imangine that Luca Turilli (Rhapsody), Tarja (Nightwish) and Dani (Cradle Of Filth) record an album together. It could be something that Taiwaness Seraphim present on their second album. Their, self called, °•operistic heavy/power metal°¶ includes all pieces of a upcoming masterpiece.
The fabulous musical progressive powermetal arrangements composed by guitarplayer Kessier are played fantastic by the rest of the musicians. Sometimes the music gets some extra stimulation with a classical orchestra and a choir.
The great operavoice of singer Pay gives everything an extra dimension and originality which brings Seraphim to the top of this musical direction. Sometimes her singing gets support of bassplayer Jax, whose icevoice represents the theme of good & evil.
However, It's hard to believe that Seraphim is a band from the east, because 'The Equal Spirit' sounds very European. Seraphim is the first big surprise of 2003 and if they can get the needed support, they must be able to make a break throug with this album.
